Meet the Celebrity teams!

Father & Daughter - Anita & Bal

Broadcaster and writer Anita Rani is traveling with her dad Bal, 45 years after their last holiday together when Anita was two!

They describe themselves as curious and go-getters, ready for an adventure and keen to meet the locals along the way, keen to race, but not at the expense of the experience:

Bal: We're competitive but we're not ruthless. We'd like to still win as father and daughter but not to the extent that we’re deliberately making other people lose. We're not those sorts of people.
Anita: I think we’re competitive, but I think we're just really keen to have an amazing experience and give it our best shot.

Asked about their strategy they said they planned to keep a tight eye on the budget... but ultimately to enjoy themselves!

Mother & Son - Dylan & Jackie

Actor Dylan Llewellyn and his mum Jackie are taking part in the race to get themselves out of their comfort zone and have a very different holiday experience.

Neither describe themselves as typically adventurous, worried they might miss having a comfy hotel bed on the trip. Asked about their strategy they said:

Jackie: Mine is to get to work pretty much straight away, so that we're not chasing our tail. I think that's really important.
Dylan: I think we should just try and embrace the mistakes, learn from them and we'll get better and better.

Couple - Molly & Tyler

Actor and singer, Molly Rainford and presenter and DJ Tyler West are also trying to get out of their comfort zone describing their previous holidays as “all inclusive, just one location” where they “can properly relax”.

They consider themselves as competitive and adventurous though and have a clear timeline for their strategy:

Tyler: It could be that we’ll either take a step back and have an overarching plan of where we're going to go, or it's just get on the floor and run 10k in one direction.
Molly: I feel like we’re going to be there for the experience in the first few legs. And then when we get close to the end, it's game face.

Siblings - Roman & Harleymoon

Broadcaster Roman Kemp and his sister, singer-songwriter, Harleymoon both see the race as a big adventure, but while Harleymoon has experience of backpacking travel, Roman has never set foot inside a hostel, and clearly prefers more of an itinerary to Harleymoon’s freewheeling nature.

Budgeting and sleep might be the biggest issues for this team, with Harleymoon saying she likes a full 9 hours rest, while Roman has calculated a “sweet spot” for the budget of spending only 13% each leg.

With two very different approaches they plan to work off each others strengths, but there was one clear challenge the more organised Roman was worried about:

Roman: Making sure Harley doesn't lose her passport. I’m going to have them strapped to my chest

So that’s the teams! Will the siblings squabble their way to victory, or will parental advice prove more useful? Might the youthful energy of Tyler & Molly give them an early lead, or leave them lost outside their usual resort stay?

If you’re prepared to take a guess before we even see them in action, predictions are open now - be sure to get your guess in before the show starts!
