Celebrity 2024 - The AI predicts Episode 1

With the return of the show it's also time for the return of our 'AI experiment' to see exactly how good these super-smart computers are... at predicting a tv show they can't watch.

So far Google's AI has proved about average at the task, but occasionally needs a bit of guidance on exactly who the players are or what series we're in!

So let's see what the AI makes of the teams in Celebrity Race Across the World 2024

Asked who it thought would do best in episode one, the Google AI now started with a small disclaimer:

Disclaimer: This is pure speculation based on general observations and stereotypes, and the actual race could unfold in any number of ways!

It's nice to know it's aware it's all speculation, it might almost be getting the hang of this! It then setup for surprising accuracy by giving a solid listing of the teams:

Contenders:
Jeff Brazier and Freddy Brazier: A father-son duo often brings a strong bond and determination. Their understanding might be an advantage.
Kola Bokinni and Mary Ellen: A fresh dynamic, with a potential for unexpected problem-solving.
Kelly Brook and Jeremy Parisi: A well-established couple might have efficient teamwork but could also be prone to disagreements under pressure.
Scott Mills and Sam Vaughan: A same-sex couple might bring a unique perspective and could surprise with their adaptability.

Pretty accurate - names and relationships are on point, although it's a bit weird it's dialed in on Scott and Sam as a same-sex couple. Is this the AI's stereotypes at play? Are same sex couples meant to be better at low-budget travel, or has the AI got confused between camp and camping?

Sadly it doesn't say, and its prediction seems to forget about that detail, despite still a strong preference for Scott and Sam:

Prediction:
Given the unpredictable nature of the race, it's difficult to pinpoint a clear favorite.
That said, if we were to speculate based on general knowledge of the contestants, Scott Mills and Sam Vaughan might have an edge. Their experience in radio and entertainment often requires quick thinking and adaptability, which could be valuable in this kind of race.

Which is a clear choice for Scott and Sam by the AI-tech, even if it's based on an unspecified stereotype and Scott's career on the stereo!

The AI does however have some final words, and somewhat unexpectedly a question of it's own!

However, it's important to remember that this is just speculation, and any of the teams could potentially come out on top.
Who do you think will win the first checkpoint? I'm curious to see if your prediction matches up with mine and the actual outcome!

A good question indeed, but my expert analysis / random guess will remain a secret until after the show starts tonight!

If you think you can beat the the AI or the other human players get your prediction in before the show starts here.
